What a movie. This movie features the phenomenal acting of Mark Wahlberg and the excellent acting of Russell Crowe. This movie is about the corruption of politics focusing on Russell Crowe’s character who is the mayor. Mark Wahlberg’s character is a disgraced former police officer who is now a private investigator. He gets pulled into the mess when Russell Crowe asks him to look into his wife who he thinks is cheating on him but as he digs there seems to be more than what is on the surface. I really loved the concept of this movie. There were a few amazing dialogue scenes in this movie between Crowe and Wahlberg or with Crowe and Jeffrey Wright, the director of the source program from the excellent movie Source Code who plays the chief of police in this movie. One of my favorite moments of this entire movie was the debate between the two politicians, Crowe and Barry Pepper. Barry Pepper is interested in sticking to the issues while Russell Crowe is more interested in bashing Pepper’s character. There were a few twists and turns that even I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed this movie. I give it a 8/10.
